Independent cosmetics boutique adds in-store AI skin scanning

The boutique runs ScanSkinAI on an iPad at the counter. Walk-in customers complete a 90-second scan, see their top three skin concerns and receive a routine built only from the boutique's own catalogue. Staff use the scan summary to recommend add-ons instead of relying on opinion-based upsell scripts.
Within the first 90 days the average basket grew by 52% on scan-led purchases. Return rates on those items fell 41% because customers picked products tied to a measurement instead of a guess. Loyalty programme engagement more than doubled as customers came back to re-scan and track progress.
Total setup cost was the $299.95/year Growth plan plus one afternoon of staff training. Payback was achieved inside the first two weeks of in-store use.
